Fully renovated in summer 2015 and situated in peaceful surroundings on the edge of Zermatt the chalet-style 4-star superior Hotel Matthiol features exclusive wellness facilities and a 10% discount on ski rental. Free transfers from the Zermatt Train Station are offered. The wellness area includes a herbal sauna a steam bath and a Finnish sauna and can be used free of charge. The fitness room is also available at no extra cost. All rooms in the Matthiol Hotel have an iPod station cable TV and free WiFi access. Most also feature a balcony with views of the Matterhorn or Gornergrat. The trendy restaurant serves Swiss and international cuisine including fondue and fish dishes. In the afternoons there is a tea and cake buffet. A breakfast buffet is available every morning. Zermatt is a car-free resort and the hotel offers a free pick-up service from Zermatt Train Station or the taxi rank between 08:00 and 21:00 on the day or arrival and departure. The nearest bus stop is just a 2-minute walk away and local buses can be used free of charge with the ski pass.
